7 Nov by Coach Education Unit

The Coach Education Unit recently hosted an insightful program, “Enhancing Modern Coaching Techniques and Coach-Player Relationships,” tailored for school and academy coaches in the Matale District. Held at the Matale DCA Office, the program was led by Coach Educators Chaminda Thotagamuwa and Sanjaya Rajapakse, who shared their expertise on fostering positive, effective coaching environments.

The program focused on modern coaching practices that encourage a supportive and understanding relationship between coaches and players. Thotagamuwa and Rajapakse emphasized the importance of building trust, open communication, and mutual respect to enhance player development and engagement. They also introduced strategies that school and academy coaches can implement to balance discipline with encouragement, making cricket training both productive and enjoyable for young athletes.

This workshop provided a valuable platform for coaches to learn innovative techniques and cultivate coaching relationships that inspire player growth, both on and off the field.
