8 Nov by Coach Education Unit

The Coach Education Unit organized a comprehensive First Aid Program for coaches at the Brain Center Auditorium, R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium (RPICS). The session was led by Sports Physician Dr. Dhammika Senanayake, who provided valuable insights into essential first aid practices, focusing on safety during cricket matches and training sessions.

The program covered critical topics such as pitch-side safety, immediate response to injuries, and handling medical emergencies effectively. Dr. Senanayake demonstrated practical techniques, including how to assess injuries quickly, stabilize players, and provide necessary first aid until professional medical help arrives. Coaches were also trained on how to safely carry a stretcher, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and proper lifting techniques to prevent further injury.

Through interactive demonstrations and hands-on practice, the coaches gained essential skills to manage on-field injuries and ensure player safety. The workshop aimed to enhance the preparedness of coaches in handling emergencies, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence needed to respond effectively to any situation. This initiative reflects the Coach Education Unit’s commitment to promoting safety and well-being in the cricketing community.
