The fifth and final day of the Level 2 Coaching Course, hosted by the Coach Education Unit, was a culmination of insightful sessions and impactful discussions designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of participating coaches. Held at the SSC Conference Hall, the day’s agenda reflected the comprehensive nature of the program.

The morning session commenced with an engaging presentation by Dr. Hashan Amaratunga, who delved into the topic of Nutrition Guidance for Cricket Players and Coaches. His session emphasized the critical role of balanced nutrition in optimizing player performance and recovery, offering practical strategies tailored to the demands of cricket.

Following this, the focus shifted to Player Management, a vital aspect of modern coaching. This session, led by the Coach Educators, equipped attendees with techniques to manage players effectively, fostering both individual and team growth. The discussion covered areas such as communication, conflict resolution, and fostering a high-performance culture.

Post-lunch, the participants transitioned to the field for their Field Assessment. Guided by the Coach Educators, this practical session allowed coaches to demonstrate the skills and concepts learned throughout the course, ensuring their readiness to apply them in real-world scenarios.

The day concluded with the Post-Course Work Brief, presented by Lead Coach Educator Kaushalya Gajasinghe, who outlined the follow-up activities and assignments necessary to complete the certification process. To mark the formal conclusion of the Level 2 Coaching Course, Head of Coach Education, Heshan De Mel, addressed the coaches. His inspiring words emphasized professionalism, continuous learning, and the profound impact coaches have on shaping the future of cricket.

The program concluded on a high note, with participants expressing their readiness to apply their newfound knowledge in developing the next generation of cricketers.
