Day 3 of the Central Province Level 1 Coaching Course, conducted by Coach Education Unit, was conducted with exceptional professionalism at the hands of experienced Coach Educators K. Karthigeson and Chaminda Thotagamuwa. As the program entered its penultimate day, the educators provided an engaging introduction, setting the tone for another day of intensive learning in this four-day course.
The day commenced with a detailed session on the fundamentals of fielding. Coaches were introduced to the theoretical aspects of fielding, emphasizing techniques, positioning, and the importance of agility and precision. Karthigeson and Thotagamuwa demonstrated practical examples, including diving techniques, to enhance understanding. This was followed by a series of warm-up drills tailored to fielding, where coaches participated actively and were subsequently assessed on their application of the skills.
The focus then shifted to wicket-keeping, with an insightful theoretical session covering stance, movement, and glove work. The educators conducted practical drills to reinforce these concepts, emphasizing the integration of technique and reflexes. Coaches were evaluated on their ability to execute the drills effectively, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.
Day 3 concluded successfully, leaving participants equipped with essential fielding and wicket-keeping knowledge, setting the stage for the program’s final day.
