The final day of the Level 1 Coaching Course, conducted by the Coach Education Unit, was successfully led by Coach Educators K. Karthigeson, Chaminda Thotagamuwa, and Sanjae Rajapakshe. The day began with a session on effective coaching practices, where the educators provided guidance on session planning. Participants were divided into four teams and tasked with creating structured coaching sessions to showcase their planning and organizational skills.
Later, each coach was assigned a specific cricket skill—such as the pull shot, sweep, follow-through, glove work, or run-up—to perform and demonstrate on the field. These practical demonstrations allowed the coach educators to assess each participant’s understanding and ability to translate theoretical knowledge into actionable coaching techniques.
The program concluded with a detailed post-course briefing by the coach educators, emphasizing the importance of professionalism and continuous development in coaching. The successful completion of this program highlights the dedication of Central Province coaches and their commitment to elevating cricket coaching standards.
