3 Apr by Coach Education Unit
The Coaches’ Engagement Skill Audit Program in Dambulla Rangiri International Stadium was conducted by the Coach Education Unit, focusing on evaluating and enhancing coaching effectiveness. The program was led by Head of Coach Education Mr. Heshan De Mel, High-Performance Manager Mr. Ruwan Kalpage, and Lead Coach Educator Mr. Kaushalya Gajasinghe, with support from Coach Educators Chaminda Thotagamuwa, Sanjae Rajapakshe, and Selva Kumar.

This initiative assessed coaches’ communication, leadership, and player management skills, while also introducing advanced coaching methodologies. A key highlight was the exceptional performances of coaches Kankar and Anton, who demonstrated outstanding proficiency in side-arm throw techniques, reaching average speeds exceeding 140 kmph. Their performance reflected the growing emphasis on high-intensity training and technical precision in coaching.

To conclude the program, all participating coaches undertook a 20-meter Beep Test, evaluating their endurance and fitness levels. This assessment reinforced the importance of maintaining high physical standards for effective coaching. Through structured evaluations, interactive discussions, and practical assessments, this initiative reaffirmed the commitment to enhancing coaching standards in Central Province, ensuring coaches are well-equipped to develop the next generation of cricketers.
