The SLC Level 1 Coaching Course for North Western Coaches in Kurunegala District, hosted by the Coach Education Unit from October 26th to 29th, 2024, is set to take place at the historic Welagedara Stadium in Kurunegala. Under the expert guidance of Coach Educator Chaminda Thotagamuwa, this course is designed to lay a strong foundation for coaches in the North Western region, equipping them with essential coaching techniques and principles aligned with Sri Lanka Cricket’s standards.

Throughout the four-day program, Chaminda will focus on core coaching elements like technique analysis, skill development, game strategy, and player management. Using structured modules, coaches will learn to deliver drills effectively, assess player performance, and implement strategies that enhance both individual and team development. Special emphasis will be placed on instilling foundational techniques that ensure players are well-prepared for higher levels of competition.

Held at Welagedara Stadium, this course provides an environment rich in cricketing tradition, allowing coaches to fully immerse themselves in the learning experience. By the end of the session, coaches will have a comprehensive understanding of player development, injury prevention, and the importance of fostering a positive team culture, marking a pivotal step in elevating the quality of cricket coaching in the region.
