PRR vs DRR mob match result - DRR win!

15 Feb by David Webster
I hope you all enjoyed the mob match this morning, it was incredible to see a massive DRR crowd turning out, all in our vests and face paint! It was a great day for running and there were so many parkrun PBs today. Both the men’s and women’s all-time club parkrun records were broken (Ewan Duthie 15:44, Mairi Littleson 18:00).

Mark Crawford from PRR and I have now reviewed the results (attached) and Mark in particular has spent a significant amount of time getting things right. As a result of that work, there are some small, but significant amendments from the results announced this morning. The number of runners was 141 (DRR 70, PRR 71), which is amazing!

Unfortunately during the time when a lot of runners were coming in, a small number of runners were missed from the results or recorded as the wrong gender. This isn’t the fault of the recorders and Mark and I have already discussed what we can do to make the system work better next time.

The changes are relatively small and don’t affect the result of the women’s race. However, a very close PRR men’s win has turned into an even closer (51%-49%) DRR men’s win. If just one fewer DRR man had turned up, it could have gone the other way!

So the final result is a 2-0 win to DRR! Well done and thank you to everyone who ran this morning and in particular Gillian Gibson for creating such a fantastic trophy and Doug Stirling for volunteering.

We look forward to welcoming PRR to the return match at Camperdown parkrun where we will be aiming to retain our roadrunner trophy.
