10k race - call for volunteers and comments

As discussed at the AGM, we are looking to set up a new 10k race and are seeking volunteers, as well as more general input – including what it should be called! A free test event with invited local clubs is planned for 9am on Sunday 8th June 2025, with a mass participation race to be held from 2026 if the test is successful.
We will need a lot of volunteers to help ensure the route is safe, as the event will be taking place on public footpaths. So if you’re a club member, we would appreciate it if you could either volunteer, or if you would prefer to run, please nominate someone who will volunteer in your place.
The draft route starts near Broughty Ferry Castle and goes out to Monifieth, round a loop and then returns to Broughty Ferry, with an additional out-and-back section on the way back to make up the distance to 10k.
