In 2010 G-Eazy achieved attention through his SoundCloud songs and after opening for major artists such as Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg. His first studio album, Must Be Nice, later caught mainstream attention in 2012.
His 2014 release of These Things Happen, which features highly favored artists such as E-40 and A$APFerg, later gained massive popularity and peaked in sound. The album featured the majority of his famous songs, including “I Mean It (feat. Remo),” “Lotta That (feat. A$ AP Ferg & Danny Seth)” and “Tumblr Girls (feat. Christoph Andersson).”
Everything’s Weird Here starts with G-Eazy’s version of The Korgis’ 1980 track “Everyone’s Got To Lean Sometime” and putting its own spin on it, slowing things down and inserting a mumbling and smiling intro and outro of him with a girl.
“Back To What You Knew” is Gerald’s inside look. He shares his feelings on a love interest that has failed in the past, and it still didn’t end well when they tried to rekindle as grown adults.
